Travel Mart Latin America to close deals for US$ 300 million

The renowned tourism fair Travel Mart Latin America (TMLA) to be held in Peru in September 2010 will enable attending Peruvian enterprises to close deals for over 300 million dollars, said Peru's Hotel Society (SHP).

This meeting will be attended by 950 buyers and sellers who operate in Latin America, the United States, Europe, Asia, Europe and Oceania, interested in the history, archaeological and cultural riches that Peru offers.

The SHP general manager, Tibisay Monsalve, said that the last time the fair was held in Peru in 2005, participants closed deals for about US$ 300 million, so estimates for this year could be even higher despite the post global financial crisis.

Peru will invest one million dollars in the organization of this event, including venue rental and infrastructure since all international quality standards have to be met," she said.

Currently, the SHP and the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) are trying to find an appropriate venue to host this fair, which requires at least 5,000 square meters.
