Some 1,200 artisans show craftworks in Santuranticuy fair in Cusco

Some 1,200 artisans from Cusco and other regions exhibit and sell their craftworks in the traditional Santuranticuy fair which takes place today at the Plaza de Armas, reported Percy Galdos, at the Public Relations Office of the Empresa Municipal de Festejos de Cusco (Emufec).
The artisans, of who 75% are image-makers, are distributed into several groups in different areas of the main square, according to their craftworks.

For example, artisans from San Blas neighborhood, known as the artists' neighborhood, are placed at the atrium of the square, in front of the Imperial City's cathedral.

A second section includes the image-makers from Collao and Pucara, in Puno, and the third section consists of artisans who work with leather, stone, and plastic.

The fourth section includes saint image-makers from Cusco, and the fifth manufacturers of wooden toys and other related materials.
