Restaurants in Huancavelica to delight visitors during Holy Week

Restaurants in Huancavelica will offer a varied menu of alpaca, trout and cuy (Guinea pig), to delight visitors arriving in this area during the long Holy Week break. Emilio Ramírez, representative of the Peruvian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (Ahora) of Huancavelica, explained that the move is aimed at promoting the varied and nutritive Andean dishes that this southern department offers.
“We want to promote our tourist attractions through our cuisine, since it's a way of promoting employment and attracting more visitors, especially now that the Peruvian economy shows signs of strong growth," he stated.
The alpaca meat it is favourable for human consumption due to its high protein, low cholesterol and fat content compared to other kinds of meat.
Visitors will be able to enjoy different dishes prepared with cuy and fish lovers will be delighted with trout dishes on Friday April 2, when people use to eat fish.
A good Pisco Sour, the Peruvian flagship drink, will be a good company for these dishes.
