The province of Rioja with Moyobamba together form "The Alto Mayo Valley", which was chosen as one of the "Seven Wonders of Peru."
Rioja. It has many attractions like:
-Laguna Mashuyacu: Located 20 minutes from Rioja, is surrounded by lush vegetation and water color varies in color according to the temperature of the lagoon. The fauna is composed mainly of birds such as herons, kingfishers, and reptiles.
-Rising of Tioyacu: Located in Selva Alta at an altitude of 898 m from where you can see how they are born cold and crystalline waters Tioyacu River from the base of the high mountains with thick vegetation, forming in its course natural pools and waterfalls.
Diamond-Cave: Cave with limestone formations, easy to access, has several rooms, most with presence of stalactites and stalagmites that resemble columns with whimsical figures that give free rein to the imagination.
